Probability Seminar——Surface sums for lattice Yang-Mills in the large-N limit

Abstract: I will discuss a formula for the large-N limit of Wilson loop expectations in lattice Yang-Mills in terms of weighted sums over planar maps. This gives an alternative formula to Chatterjee's string trajectories, and is inspired by recent work of Cao-Park-Sheffield which gave a surface-sum formula for finite-N Wilson loop expectations.
Bio: Sky Cao is currently a postdoc at MIT. He is interested in probability theory, analysis, and more specifically, Yang-Mills. Before MIT, he spent one year as a postdoc at IAS, and prior to that he was as PhD student at Stanford.
